LANAP Laser GUM Surgery
Laser Assisted Periodontal Procedure (LANAP & LAPIP)
When oral bacteria accumulates underneath your gums, it is utterly destructive to one’s oral health, causing inflammation, gum infection, and bone loss. Gum disease (periodontal disease) is known to contribute to medical conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular (heart) diseases, and other illnesses.
To treat the condition, bacteria and infected tissues must be removed from the deep pockets of the gum. Cleaning these areas via LANAP gives tissues a chance to heal and regenerate, providing a simple alternative to other more invasive gum surgeries.
The Benefits of Laser Treatment
- Conservative but effective treatment for gum disease compared to traditional flap gum surgery.
- No cut, no suture, no "collateral damage" to healthy gum tissues
- Laser is capable of distinguishing diseased tissue from normal tissue
- Less post op discomfort and quicker healing
- Lower risk of infection and bacteria spreading to other parts of the body
- Laser cauterizes tissue and reduces bleeding during the procedure
- Can be applicable for dental implant gum infection (LAPIP)
